The mass storage is a professional infrastructure of very large capacity (1.5 petabytes) provided by the GIGA for the storage of scientific data. This storage system is located in the basement (floor -3) of building B34 (GIGA Tower) and is connected to the optical fibre of the ULiège scientific backbone.

Before you use the mass storage for the first time, you should read the full documentation. This documentation will give you important information about the structure of the mass storage, how files are backed-up and archived, the best practices in term of data management, as well as some tips to reduce your space usage. Following these rules is crucial to enable effective usage and management of the available resources to the benefit of the entire GIGA and university community.
