Where shall I store my data ?
Depending of the type of data to store, there are four options:
1. Small files and work computer backup
DoX
DoX is a project implemented by the SEGI in order to create an internal file storage for university members. It offers the same functionalities as Dropbox or Google drive but the data are stored in the Datacenter of the University that are secured and certified (ISO27001)
DoX can be used to backup important files and folders from your work computer (maximum 100Gb in total), to synchronise these files between different computers or to share them with other members of the University.
For more information, installation, usage and update instructions, as well as for consulting the SEGI FAQs, see the DoX webpage on the SEGI website (click at the top right to change language if needed).
OneDrive
Office365's OneDrive is a system for storing, sharing and synchronising your documents in Microsoft Cloud - with a capacity of 1 TB per user (1 TB = 1000 GB). Data are hosted in Europe, in one of Microsoft's certified and GDPR compliant data centres.
For more information about Office365 installation and usage, as well as for FAQs and online trainings, see the Office365 webpage on the SEGI website (click at the top right to change language if needed).
2. Analysis scripts
Gitlab
The university also provides its members with an access to two Gitlab servers for storing scripts. Gitlab is a very powerful tool to organise scripts and keep record of modifications that have been done to them overtime. More information about the university Gitlab servers can be found here(click at the top right to change language if needed) and about git here
3. Voluminous research data
GIGA mass storage
The mass storage server is used to store large data (e.g. genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic and metabolomic data, imaging data, and results of the analysis of these data).
